In Ireland, Abbott employs around 6,000 people across nine sites. We currently have six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. Diabetes Care Kilkenny
Our new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny, opening in 2024, reflects the growing demand for Abbott's global Diabetes Care products. The facility will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies that enable people with diabetes to live the best and fullest lives they can. These positions will be shift based.
Responsibilities
1. Operates production and/or test equipment.
2. Completes daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor.
3. Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), standard operating procedures, and applicable safety rules.
4. Ensure tools and equipment are set up and operated per procedures.
5. Records production information on approved document or electronic system.
6. Performs basic troubleshooting on operation issues before escalating to supervisor and support team.
7. May perform product testing and release.
8. May assist in executing validation protocols.
9. Ensures safe work practices and follows behavioural based safety guidelines at all times while on site.
10. Carries out training of new employees as appropriate.
11. Support continuous improvement by generating ideas and assisting in projects where needed.
12. Maintain adequate stocks of operating supplies and consumables within production area as appropriate
13. Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Qualification
14. Level 5 qualification per the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or a pass rating in an Aptitude Test selected by Abbott Diabetes Care.
15. Relevant work experience advantageous but not essential or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
16. Excellent communication / interpersonal skills.
17. Enthusiastic and energetic with the ability to integrate quickly into a team environment.
18. Demonstrated flexible and innovative approach to work.
19. Comfortable working with computers.
