Job Specification Title: Full Time Waiting Staff Reporting To: Food and Beverage Supervisor/ Food And Beverage Manager / Duty Manager/ Operations Manager/ General Manager Based: TF Royal Hotel & Theatre NO ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE WITH THIS ROLE Key accountabilities & Responsibilities: Taking food orders from customers and passing orders through to kitchen immediately.
To attend to the needs of all guests always maintaining a high standard of service.
Ensuring company standard operating procedures are always adhered to.
Acquire a full knowledge of all food & beverage policies and procedures in accordance with restaurant standards.
Ensure timely delivery of all food & beverage items to customers in the restaurant.
Ensure that tables are cleared of all used plates, cutlery and glasses and brought to the dish wash area.
To maintain a clean and safe working environment.
To learn, understand and know all the menus on offer so that all guests' questions can be answered without delay.
Ensure that all our guests special needs i.e., dietary requirements, allergies, etc are made known to the chef and the restaurant manager.
To become familiar with the type of wines served.
Therefore, ensuring that wine is offered when taking a food order and the up-selling technique is always used.
Ensure that the manager on duty is informed of any difficulties or delays with service as soon as they occur during service.
Ensure that all hot food served to the guests is in fact hot.
Ensure that any customer complaints are brought to the attention of the restaurant manager as soon as they occur.
Make best efforts to learn the names and personally recognise the regular customers.
Ensuring that all payments are handled with care so as no shortages occur.
Stock service areas with supplies such as food and tableware.
Ensure all condiment containers are always full.
Ensure bathrooms are clean and tidy and fully stocked with soap, toilet paper and hand towels.
All tables are set appropriately for lunch and dinner service and reset at night for the following day.
To ensure that bathrooms, restaurant floors, outdoor area and service stations are clean and reset for morning service.
To report for duty on time, in the correct company uniform and groomed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
To attend all training courses provided by management.
To be familiar with all cash handling procedures.
Maintain a good working relationship with all restaurant and kitchen staff.
To perform all duties as instructed by your supervisor and manager.
Adhere to Health & Safety Polices & HR Policies.
Ad hoc duties as and when required including occasionally helping other departments if needed.
Partake in all sustainable and waste management practices required.
Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by management.
