Overview:
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team at Breedon Cement, Kinnegad.
As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, co-ordinating and delivering engineering projects in a heavy industrial production plant.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
* To support the engineering requirements through managing & liaising with the senior team, main contractor, subcontractors, direct labour and site management.
* Interpret client requests and specifications to ensure designs are correctly transformed into engineering drawings.
* Conduct cost estimation. Electrical design of customized solutions including motor sizing, pneumatic/electro-pneumatic/and electrical routing.
* Plan schedule and co-ordinate engineering projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
* Source equipment and parts from external suppliers.
* Manage & Supervise field installations necessary on all projects.
* Carry out pre-commissioning and test works.
* Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases.
* Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard.
* Prepare and submit reports as required.
* Assist in carrying out feasibility studies on improvement projects with emphasis on improving production cost and quality.
* To maintain a positive and enthusiastic approach to your job and set the highest possible standards for yourself and your team.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Third level or equivalent engineering qualification
* 3-5 years’ experience, preferably in heavy industry environment
* Must be computer literate in word, excel and AutoCAD
* Have:
o Knowledge/experience in PLC Controls.
o Knowledge/experience in Variable speed drives.
o Knowledge/experience in Instrumentation.
o Knowledge/experience in Electronic Motor protection.
* Committed and positive attitude to work
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Can do/make it happen attitude
* Ability to adapt to changing circumstances essential
