Morgan McKinley are delighted to partner exclusively with a new entity setting up in the Life Sciences sector in Dublin, Ireland.
Initially this company are looking to make their first hire of a Country Warehouse & Distribution Operations Manager to head up the launch of their distribution centre which will serve the EU market initially.
This role is critical to the efficient operation and growth of their Irish operations and will play a key part in driving its growth and ensuring seamless day-to-day performance. The key function of the role will be to head up all Irish Warehouse, Distribution, and Order Processing Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution, to optimise product flow and ensure timely delivery to customers.
* Lead and develop the operations team, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Partner closely with the customer service team to resolve inquiries and complaints, enhance customer experience, and ensure high satisfaction levels.
* Ensure adherence to quality control standards to maintain compliance with industry regulations and exceed customer expectations.
* Manage and resolve shipment deviations in a timely and efficient manner.
* Develop and oversee the operations budget, monitor expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and resource efficiency.
* Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and suppliers, evaluate their performance, and maintain strong, cost-effective partnerships.
* Continuously assess and improve operational processes, implementing strategies to boost efficiency and drive cost-saving initiatives.
* Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects, define project goals, and ensure timely execution and delivery.
* Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), generate reports, and analyze operational data to guide strategic decisions and improvements.
* Handle customer complaints and escalations in line with established procedures.
* Provide hands-on support across warehousing, shipping, and customer service operations as needed.
Employee Specific Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day management of the facility.
* Direct supervisory role of operations, quality and customer service employees in facility.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
* Proven work experience as operations manager or similar role
* Knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management
* Previous inventory & order management experience
* Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
* Strong project management and process improvement skills
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
