Position: Safeguarding and Protection Manager – (Social Worker) +(CORU)
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Kildare – Ireland
Salary: up to €66,750 (DOE)
Position Overview:
To act as a full support function to the organization in ensuring all Community Members with Support Needs are safeguarded and protected from all forms of abuse and will support all Communities with all matters relating to Safeguarding.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enhancing and further developing management reporting systems and safeguarding data collection in conjunction with the National Safeguarding Office’s client information system.
2. Management of the administrative function ensuring adequate administrative support and compliance with policy.
3. Monitoring of referral trends and outcomes within safeguarding, collating data in quarterly and annual report format.
4. Oversee the department electronic file system; ensure staff have accurate data and are supported in regular electronic reviews.
5. Ensure on-site audits are completed at least quarterly by the Safeguarding and Protection Team.
6. Ensure attendance at monthly Community Management Meetings.
7. Oversee maintenance and reporting on Safeguarding Training Records.
8. Support administrative and professional staff in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Provision of administrative support in relation to budgetary needs, complaints, complex cases, legal issues, and reports.
10. Ensure compliance with S19 of the Barring and Vetting Act.
11. Co-ordinate, collate, and provide administrative assistance regarding Operational Plans, Value Improvement Plans, and Risk Register Audits.
12. Prepare reports and business cases as requested.
13. Maintain a good understanding of internal and external factors affecting service delivery.
14. Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to gather support for new initiatives.
15. Promote co-operation and working in harmony with other teams.
16. Supervise and enable other administrative team members.
17. Review the conduct and completion of assignments of staff.
18. Identify and agree training and development needs of the team.
19. Attend regular staff meetings and keep staff informed.
20. Promote and participate in the implementation of change.
21. Proactively identify inefficiencies in service administration and implement solutions.
22. Encourage and support staff through the change process.
Essential Minimum Qualification(s):
1. Must hold a Degree in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with CORU as a Social Worker.
2. Maintain live annual registration on the Social Workers Register at CORU.
3. Must have the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of duties.
4. Possess competencies and skills appropriate to working with persons with an intellectual disability.
