The Operations Manager Cork Terminal Business Unit (CTBU) is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective Air Traffic Management/Air Navigation Service (ATM/ANS) services to Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) customers.
This role involves ensuring the delivery of ATM/ANS services in compliance with all applicable standards and regulatory requirements, as well as managing safety risks and security threats to ANSP operations.
The Operations Manager CTBU will also be responsible for implementing corrective and preventative actions in response to Compliance, Safety, Security, and Quality audit findings.
Main duties and responsibilities include:
* Managing the delivery of ATM/ANS services in a safe, orderly, and cost-effective manner
* Fostering a culture of operational focus, safety, security, and compliance awareness
* Implementing Operational and Safety Strategies and plans
* Managing ATM resources to ensure optimum utilisation vis-à-vis traffic demand
* Identifying the need for and contributing to trials, studies, and simulations to determine optimum airspace and sectorisation configurations
* Ensuring necessary staffing levels and operating skills are available and maintained
* Informing the General Manager Terminal Services of developments and activities, and highlighting any implications for the unit or the ANSP
* Obtaining financial and resource budget approval to develop and implement the annual Work Programme
* Ensuring efficient and effective management of personnel, overtime, Time in Lieu, Office Holiday/Public Holiday
* Providing direction, guidance, and motivation to direct reports and evaluating their performance
* Overseeing the performance of Station Managers and conducting annual performance reviews
* Managing attendance in line with the Absence Management Policy and Procedures
* Contributing to the efficient management and development of the Operations Directorate through effective teamwork and two-way communications
* Managing health and safety issues in accordance with the Company's Safety Statement
* Implementing the ANSP's Personnel Policies and Procedures
* Liaising with stakeholders to ensure ATM / airspace capacity is maintained in line with forecast demand
* Representing the ANSP at appropriate national and international fora or as directed by the General Manager Terminal Services
The successful candidate will have:
* An appropriate third-level qualification or equivalent experience
* A minimum of 10+ years' management experience in an aviation (preferably Air Traffic Management) or related industry environment
* Knowledge of applicable EU and national safety regulations and any associated requirements and procedures of ATM /ANS operations
* Demonstrable experience in the application of aviation safety standards and operating practices
* A proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate staff
* Knowledge and understanding of the ANSP's strategy
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
* Excellent management and presentation skills
* Strong business acumen with a focus on customer service
