Description
* Role: Technical Officer - Property & Fire Safety Management
* Location: Tullamore, Co. Offaly (Hybrid working may be available after 12 weeks of employment)
The Technical Officer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Properties and Facilities Department. Reporting to the Head of Properties and Facilities, the Technical Officer provides technical services including the preparation of drawings, surveying of new and existing property stock, the inspection of active construction sites, inspection of existing property stock, ensuring compliance with building regulations, and undertakes the role of Fire Prevention and Safety Manager for the organisation.
The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:
* Essential: Have at least 5+ years experience in a relevant technical post.
* Experience of working in a construction/refurbishment role.
* Experience of fire safety with good knowledge of building regulations.
* Experience in leading and managing fire safety within an organisation.
* Relevant experience in a similar environment is an advantage.
* Experience of working with local authorities, developers, AHBs, and contractors is an advantage.
* Has worked on preparing detailed drawings, pricing documents, and specifications.
* Experience in project management of construction/refurbishments works.
* Experience of security systems is an advantage.
* Broad experience in the fields of facilities, property, maintenance, energy management, and health & safety would be very helpful.
* Knowledge of Building Regulations and Construction Standards.
* Understanding of Landlord and Tenant Obligations & tenancy legislation/regulation.
* Have a thorough knowledge and capability in the use of Microsoft software packages.
* Good knowledge and proficiency in ICT systems to be applied in this field of work and extremely comfortable in the use of ICT systems.
