Site Operations Manager (Technical)
This role demands a leader with a solid technical foundation in food processing, particularly in canning and cooking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight of daily plant operations, including production, quality, efficiency, and maintenance.
* Collaboration with sales and planning teams to create and implement robust production and storage plans.
* Bilateral relationship-building with customers, addressing service, delivery, and quality requirements.
* Support for new product initiatives and resource management coordination with Group technical teams.
* Daily monitoring of production metrics, focusing on cost reduction, margin improvement, and KPI target achievement.
* Implementation and management of preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and enhance productivity.
* Consistent achievement of production goals, yields, and quality standards.
Budget and Planning:
* Preparation and management of the site's annual budget, tracking expenses and identifying areas for cost savings and capital improvements.
* Planning and oversight of staffing and training requirements, aligning with HR and productivity standards.
Team Leadership:
* Strong leadership across production teams to drive safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
* Performance reviews, underperformance management, and accurate record-keeping according to company policies.
* Cultivation of a culture of safety, holding team members accountable for their responsibilities.
Compliance and Reporting:
* Maintenance of compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
* Provision of detailed reports on labor efficiency, absenteeism, recruitment, uptime/downtime, and agreed KPIs.
Continuous Improvement:
* Driving a culture of continuous improvement using Lean tools and methodologies.
* Collaboration with the Group Lean Manager to reduce non-value-added activities and streamline processes.
* Development and implementation of operational enhancements to boost efficiency, reduce inventory, and minimize costs.
Communication and Collaboration:
* Liaison with departments including sales, quality, HR, safety, and logistics.
* Facilitation of effective communication through regular team meetings, updates, and noticeboards.
