Your mission will be to:Aspart of our strategic growth in Ireland, we are expanding our commercial teamwith a newly created Business Development Manager role.
This position will bekey to strengthening Mérieux NutriSciences' market presence, increasingvisibility with both existing and prospective customers, and driving newbusiness opportunities.
Thisis a field-based role (60-70%) that combines strategic sales development andKey Account Management to accelerate Mérieux NutriSciences' commercialexpansion.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, as Business DevelopmentManager, you will play a key role in:Expanding Mérieux NutriSciences' presence and visibility in the Irish market, ensuring our services reach and support a broader client base.
Leading and managing new business sales, with a focus on securing new clients and expanding relationships within existing accounts.
Developing and executing strategic account plans to drive revenue growth and long-term partnerships.
Cross-selling Mérieux NutriSciences' full suite of services, including food microbiology, nutritional chemistry testing, training, and consultancy into existing accounts.
Managing and growing key client accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and continued business expansion.
Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development & SalesExpansionIdentify, target, and secure new business opportunities, expanding Mérieux NutriSciences' footprint within Ireland.
Proactively engage with prospective clients to promote Mérieux NutriSciences' food safety, quality, and compliance services.
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan, ensuring sustained revenue growth.
Lead sales negotiations and contract discussions, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
Leverage market intelligence and competitor insights to position Mérieux NutriSciences competitively.Key Account Management & Cross-SellingAct as the primary point of contact for assigned key accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients, identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
Proactively renew quotations within the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and ensure strong quote conversion rates.
Support clients with service concerns, queries, and customised solutions.
Track key account performance and provide regular sales forecasting and reporting to the Commercial Manager.Market Visibility & RelationshipBuildingRepresent Mérieux NutriSciences at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance brand recognition.
Deliver professional presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
Collaborate with internal teams (technical, quality, and operations) to align service offerings with market demands.
YOUR PROFILEBachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, Microbiology, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management, preferably in the food, laboratory services, or regulatory sector.
Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to manage and develop key accounts, ensuring revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Excellent IT proficiency, including experience with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and KPI tracking.
Full, clean Irish driving license, with a willingness to travel regularly across Ireland.
Desirable Skills:Experience in cross-selling multiple service lines within a B2B environment.
Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards, food safety regulations, and relevant Irish food safety legislation.
