Responsible To: Head Chef and/or Manager/Supervisor on Duty
Responsible For: Food Standards
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Open up and prepare the kitchen for breakfast service.
* Cooking and managing breakfast service and assisting with lunch service.
* Undertake a varied list of food preparation for the kitchen daily and take full responsibility and accountability for the Breakfast Shift.
* Set up and clean down the kitchen after breakfast.
* Cook dishes according to set recipes.
* Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables and meat.
* Storage and rotation according to HACCP daily.
* Understand and deliver the correct measurements of food to customers.
* Adhere to the correct standard of food being sent out to customers.
* Maintain knowledge of all recipes.
* Operate kitchen equipment.
* Oversee and assist with daily and weekly cleaning of the kitchen.
* Have a good knowledge and understanding of allergens.
* Inform front of house of ingredients missing daily.
* Handle high volumes of orders and keep calm under pressure.
* Ensure all deliveries are checked and signed before putting everything away in their designated places.
* Ensure that all food and beverage products are correctly stored, dated, labelled, and rotated where necessary.
* Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, meeting Saba grooming and uniform standards.
* Maintain healthy relationships with fellow employees.
* Be empowered to deal with problems through the HEAL process and seek advice when unsure.
* Develop self and others by responding to and giving feedback to other associates.
* Comply with predetermined food handling procedures.
* Follow the Saba Way standards at all times.
