yourself. Job Summary:As a Security Officer at Generator Dublin, you will play a crucial role in
ensuring the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. You will
be responsible for maintaining a visible presence throughout the hostel,
preventing and responding to security incidents, and providing excellent
customer service. Key Responsibilities:• Access Control: Monitor entrances and exits, control access to
restricted areas, and ensure only authorised individuals enter the premises
once the bar closes.• Patrolling: Regularly patrol all areas of the hostel, including public
spaces, guest floors, and external areas, to identify and address potential
security risks• Incident Response: Respond to security incidents, disturbances, and
emergencies in a calm and professional manner. This may involve de-escalation
techniques, first aid, and contacting emergency services when necessary.• Guest Support: Assist guests with inquiries, provide directions, and
offer support in any security-related matters.• CCTV Monitoring: Monitor CCTV cameras to detect and deter any
suspicious activity or security breaches only when necessary.• Fire Safety: Conduct regular fire safety checks, ensure fire exits are
clear, carry out fire walks and assist with evacuations in the event of a fire
alarm.• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of security incidents,
observations, and any other relevant information. Report any concerns by email
to the Security Manager.• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to all guests,
staff, and visitors, creating a welcoming and secure environment.• Online Training: Ensure FLOW / Mapal online training is kept up to
date. • House Rules: Follow where possible but have the ability to use
judgement if needed to avoid complaints and negative reviews. Naturally this is not intended as an exhaustive list of duties. Other
duties as may be reasonably required will form part of this job description. Essential Skills and Experience:• Security Qualifications: Holding a valid PSA Door Supervisor and
Static Licence which is worn on upper arm and visible. • Security Experience: Previous experience working as a Security Officer
or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse
backgrounds.• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to
remain calm and decisive under pressure.• Physical Fitness: Good physical fitness to conduct patrols and respond
to incidents effectively.• Observation Skills: Keen observation skills to identify potential
security risks and suspicious activity.• First Aid Knowledge: Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency
procedures.• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and
collaborate with other departments. Desirable Skills and Experience:• Knowledge of Hostel Operations: Familiarity with hostel operations and
procedures.• Conflict Resolution Training: Training in conflict resolution and
de-escalation techniques. road less travelled.· Monitor our social spaces, lighting, sound and temperature, to make
sure they embody the Generator brand and culture at all times.· Know your city, its cafés, bars and restaurants, its art, its music.· Demonstrate a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.. Own guest complaints and try to resolve yourself where possible. · Ensure you comply with all company policies you have been trained on,
