Nazareth House Fahan is a registered nursing home which provides health and social care to 48 male and female residents usually over the age of 65. It provides long-term Nursing and palliative care, short-term respite and convalescence and step-down care and also, dementia care.
The nursing home is a single-storey building on the main link road between Letterkenny and Buncrana and overlooks Lough Swilly.

Job Description:
Job Title: Multi-Task Attendant
Location: Nazareth House, Figary, Fahan, Co. Donegal, F93 VR99
Reporting to: Director of Nursing
Purpose of the job: To provide high-quality services and functions at healthcare facilities
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure the wellbeing of the people we support in the care of Ability West.
* Facilitate the development of interpersonal relationships within each service.
* Enable residents to value themselves and enhance their self-worth and individuality.
* Attend to the day-to-day needs of the residents, including personal care such as dressing, washing, bathing, toileting, and feeding.
* Assist with moving and handling residents, fitting equipment, and other direct care tasks as delegated.
* Perform housekeeping duties including cooking, shopping, cleaning, and caring for residents' clothes and personal effects.
* Encourage residents to participate in different activities as much as possible.
* Facilitate the use of leisure time tailored to residents' needs, emphasizing community integration.
* Assist and support residents, respecting them and their families with dignity, courtesy, and professionalism.
* Act as an advocate for residents, as appropriate.
* Assist in the provision of a quality service in line with national and locally devised policies and regulations.
* Carry out assigned and delegated responsibilities involving direct care and all activities of daily living under supervision.
* Ensure general cleaning of the service area as directed by the Supervisor.
* Maintain agreed standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas, appropriately documented in line with policies and regulations.
* Report any equipment faults to the person in charge.
* Ensure all equipment is stored safely.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience in a similar care role.
* QQI Level 5 in Health Care
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively and provide direction when needed.
* Compassionate, respectful, and professional attitude towards residents and their families.
* Understanding of national and local policies and regulations related to care services.
* Basic housekeeping skills and ability to encourage resident participation in domestic activities.
