Our Software Applications Engineering team is looking for a passionate, self-motivated individual to join our team of professionals to ensure our software applications go beyond a range of industry benchmarks worldwide. You will be a key part of the Activator Platform Team - a global team responsible for both new features as well as ongoing maintenance. This specific role is primarily to be part of the code development team.

The Software Development Engineer is a critical role in the company, working with Product and Project Managers ensuring Activator remains the class leader and executes a predictable flow of software release plans, such that our sales teams and customers can have the utmost confidence in product availability across the globe. They will be responsible for the scope, risks, dependencies, budgeting, and validation test planning as well as the strategic roadmap for Activator.
Role & Responsibilities:
Based on-site in Dublin office, you will be one of a team of very senior and experienced engineers responsible for a range of development tasks such as writing code, unit testing, and quality assurance. Working in an agile environment, you will join an ambitious development team creating new products, as well as maintaining and extending existing offerings.
As a Software Engineer, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications. As an engineer, you will build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. You will be required to interact with other functional peer group managers and with senior management on development status and technical roadmap as part of the team.
You will be an experienced software developer with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry as part of a team responsible for a range of development and lifecycle management tasks.
The role will include the preparation of requirements specifications, designs, and test schedules, the design and implementation of .NET Solutions, Windows Services, Web Applications, Database Applications, Systems Integration, Test application, Troubleshooting, and staying up to date with technology evolution.
Qualifications/Skills:
* B.S. or above, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree.
* 5+ years industry experience as a C# back-end developer.
* Strong SQL, .NET, and ASP.NET MVC environment development.
* Strong on code quality, including developing thorough tests for new or changed code.
* Good understanding of quality assurance processes and methodologies.
* Good understanding of software and system design patterns.
* Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python.
* Skilled in debugging, analysis, and diagnostics.
* Experience with version control tools (e.g. Git or SVN).
* Ability to implement high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code.
* Ability to improve code according to new requirements from internal and external customer organizations and implementing customer requests.
* Ability to work to tight project timelines and should be able to plan, organize, and execute multiple concurrent tasks. Capable of working independently.
* Familiarity with preparation of requirements specifications, designs, and test schedules.
* Familiarity with automation tools and practices (unit test and system level automation).
* Work cross-functionally to reproduce customer issues and analyze issues.
* Focus on product and customer needs.
