Automation Maintenance Technician
A permanent position based in Co. Offaly with a well-established Irish owned company is looking for an Automation Maintenance Technician to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure maintenance plans and targets are met safely, cost-effectively, and within environmental limits.
* Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain records in the Maintenance Management System.
* Perform preventative maintenance on control and instrumentation systems, including calibrating process instruments and maintaining stack emission monitoring equipment.
* Support IT infrastructure locally, including office networks, data historian development, and maintaining software systems for the Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM).
* Install, modify, and maintain instruments, SCADA systems, PLC controllers, and plant automation systems.
* Collaborate with contractors for commissioning new projects, resolve automation issues, and manage vendor and contractor activities on-site when necessary.
Requirements:
* Technical qualification, such as a Bachelor of Technology or an equivalent degree, along with a recognised apprenticeship.
* A minimum of 5 years experience in maintaining heavy process industries or power plants is required.
* Strong IT proficiency, with the ability to think logically and solve problems using first principles.
