Grundfos Manufacturing based in Sunderland are seeking a talented and experienced Engineer to Order (ETO) Design Engineer.
In this role you will be responsible for specifying and designing a range of bespoke pumping solutions for offsite build to meet the needs of our customers in Building Services, Water Utilities, and Industry. In addition, you will be responsible for developing sound professional relationships with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
1. Fulfilling customer enquiries and providing technical and cost information to support the overall sales and delivery process.
2. Managing product specification development and fully supporting production and support departments with accurate information such as drawings, bills of material, and line-side guidance.
3. Supporting quick cost and sizing estimation of project orders.
4. Initiating and managing Engineer to Order pumping projects and ensuring project requirements are fulfilled from enquiry to delivery and commissioned phase, full end to end project involvement.
5. Creating general arrangement designs from customer specifications including P&ID.
6. Supporting Project Fulfilment Manager with project control.
7. For complex orders, coordinating project requirements and expediting action registers across Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, and external stakeholders.
8. Continually developing and improving Grundfos’ project order processes.
9. Supporting the implementation and development of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
What qualifications and experience would we like you to have?
1. Qualified to degree level in mechanical or Structural engineering is preferred or a minimum of ONC in a related engineering discipline with relevant experience.
2. Experience in delivering engineered products and services. Automotive or pumping solutions experience advantageous but not essential.
3. Experience in new product introduction or project delivery with a strong drive to ensure that commitments are met or exceeded.
4. Proficiency with a leading 2/3D CAD package is desirable for the ability to create general arrangement drawings. Catia and Revit advantageous.
5. Experience of enterprise resource planning systems, i.e. SAP is desirable.
6. Competent with Microsoft packages.
