As a First Line Associate in the UK Data Protection team at Ernst & Young, you will be a key part of ensuring EY UK complies with data protection law and regulation.
Your responsibilities will include handling Data Subject Rights requests, investigating data incidents and breaches, and supporting Privacy and Confidentiality impact assessments.
You will work closely with professionals across the business to provide exceptional client service and support the development and operation of data protection processes.
To succeed in this role, you will have strong communication skills, the ability to establish and maintain confidentiality, and experience or background in a relevant business discipline.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in understanding UK data protection and privacy legislation and a risk-based approach to compliance.

Key Responsibilities
* Handling Data subject rights requests, helping to uphold individuals' rights including:
o Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs): from communicating with data subjects, data gathering from across the business, to in-depth review of the information and producing outputs to be shared with data subjects.
o Erasure requests: from communicating with data subjects to liaising with the business on data retention requirements.
* Investigation of Data incidents and breaches, liaising with the business to ensure containment and mitigation.
* Triaging and supporting in the Privacy and Confidentiality impact assessments of EY products, applications, tools, technology, solutions, and suppliers.
* Managing personal workloads to ensure queues of work are dealt with in a timely manner.
* Supporting the development and operation of data protection processes to improve efficiencies.
* Assisting team members with project work as appropriate.
* Other tasks, as directed by the Data Protection Officer.
