The Role
With the continued growth of our business, we are looking to strengthen our safety team by adding a Junior Health & Safety Officer.
Reporting to the Company Health & Safety Manager, the junior H&S officer will be responsible for monitoring the company’s safety performance and advising on compliance in line with our Health, Safety, and Welfare policies.
The H&S officer will assist with site inspections and audits, communicating the findings to site supervision, and assist in the closure of issues while ensuring compliance and promoting good work practices in relation to health, safety, and welfare on site.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Maintenance of site training register
2. Inducting all personnel/contractors attending site
3. Maintaining site safety files/documentation
4. Ensuring compliance on site through inspections, completing toolbox talks, issuing relevant permits, and completing daily SSWPs
5. Reporting issues/non-compliance to the H&S Manager and site management
6. Assisting in the completion of weekly site safety reports
7. Assisting in accident/incident investigations and completion of reports
8. Attending site meetings
Qualifications
Relevant qualification in Health & Safety
Experience/Skills
* Experience in the construction industry preferred but not essential
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with Excel, Word, and general computer literacy
* Excellent problem solver, team player, and good interpersonal skills
* Ability to work on their own initiative and be self-motivated
