We are hiring a Clinical Nurse Specialist - Cardiothoracic Pre-Assessment Clinic for a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. We will provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring, and compassion are central to all we do.
37.5 hours per week
Responsibilities
* Perform thorough and precise nursing assessments of patients, organise and carry out care, and assess if the desired results have been attained.
* Utilise evaluation methods and abilities to ascertain the needs of patients upon admission.
* Communicate as needed with consultants and their secretaries.
* Communicate promptly with patients, their families, and carers.
* Work together with the patient, family, and caretakers to determine the patient's requirements and anticipated health care outcomes.
* Create personalised and suitable education and discharge plans for patients, their families, and carers, and make use of the ward's resources.
* As directed, update the computerised or written care plan.
* When necessary, attend Cath Lab.
* Complete all tests while reassuring and supporting the patient, their family, and carers.
* Together with the patient and other medical personnel, create a plan of care for the patient that includes goals, deadlines, and continuity.
* Create and schedule the discharge criteria in PAC at the pre-assessment stage.
* At the cardiologist's request, schedule a surgical evaluation and see inpatients.
* Perform operations in accordance with established policy and procedures and provide safe, thorough nursing based on current standards and research.
* Use a consistent and adaptable approach when implementing the created care plan.
Requirements
* Registered in the general division of NMBI.
* Possess at least eight years of relevant post-registration nursing experience working in acute hospitals full-time or equivalently part-time, with one year spent in a surgical setting.
* A postgraduate degree in "care of the surgical patient" that is recognised.
* Possess a thorough understanding, enthusiasm, and fondness for cardiothoracic surgery.
