BIM Coordinator
Asset Recruitment proudly presents an opportunity for a BIM Coordinator to join our client, a growing specialist Mechanical and Process Engineering contractor
Responsibilities:
Develop 3D construction models using base information such as PID’s, facility scans, and cloud data.
Provide construction detailing to enable automatic production of isometrics and BOMs.
Manage clashes on all systems.
Interpret and analyze P&IDs and project specifications effectively.
Update models to reflect IFC information and critique design intent against P&IDs.
Coordinate with construction teams to ensure project constructability.
Design and detail services support systems.
Adhere to company CAD and BIM manuals and processes.
Collaborate with other trades and project teams.
Conduct field surveying and verification.
Manage drawing schedules and project reporting.
Resolve coordination and design roadblocks.
Produce general arrangements and detailing sheets.
Participate in design and construction reviews.
Assist in the development of BIM protocols and systems.
Train and mentor new staff.
Ensure integration of models for overall coordination.
Develop 3D coordinated layouts for clash control.
Manage project drawing maintenance and mechanical/process systems.
Produce builders works schedules and associated drawings.
Generate 3D design drawings and prefabrication details.
Conduct clash detection and ensure design accuracy.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members for quality assurance.
Manage documentations using BIM360 or similar environments.
Complete material procurement schedules and requisitions.
Program timelines for projects.
Attend meetings with subcontractors, consultants, and clients.
Coordinate mechanical services installation with other trades.
Ensure QA/QC compliance.
Requirements:
Possess a 3rd level engineering or CAD/BIM qualification or relevant trades background with CAD skills.
Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience using AutoCAD Plant 3D for plant/piping design.
Demonstrated knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, and PVC pipes and fittings.
Familiarity with piping supports and fabrication/installation processes.
Proficient in producing, reading, and QA checking piping isometrics.
Ability to read and comprehend P&IDs and schematics.
Experience working with scans and point clouds.
Strong motivation with excellent communication and organizational skills.
