Job Description: Finance and Reporting Assistant
Location: The Macro Building, 1 Green St, Dublin 7 (Office-based/Hybrid options)
Organisation: Irish Environmental Network (IEN)
Contract: Part-time 3-year Contract: 4 days per week (28 hours)
Salary Band: €29,115-€36,576 (Pro Rata)
Reporting to: Fair Seas Campaign Coordinator
About the IEN
The IEN is a network of national environmental non-governmental organisations (eNGOs) that work to protect and enhance the environment and to place environmental issues centre stage in Ireland and internationally. You will work in a small, energetic team to advance the interlinked aims of environmental, economic and social sustainability.
Overview of the role
The Finance and Reporting Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the following processes: financial planning; monitoring expenditure; budgeting; issuing payments and updating our internal financial systems. Responsibilities will also include assisting with financial reporting.
This role will sit within the Fair Seas project team. The majority of working hours will be allocated to the Fair Seas project, while other IEN projects and initiatives will also be supported by the role.

Key responsibilities
Finance and Reporting
1. Budget tracking and management of project invoices, and overall expenditure
2. Budget review and forecasting
3. Checking and collating details for payment runs and entering details into the payment and banking systems
4. Liaising and collaborating with the IEN finance team, Fair Seas Steering Committee, project partners and colleagues to ensure delivery of robust financial management, oversight and reporting processes
5. Responding to financial queries from colleagues, project partners, members, funders and directors as required
6. Assisting in the preparation of financial and project reports
General Duties
1. Agree annual work plan, containing goals, objectives and key performance indicators with your line manager
2. Provide regular reports to your line manager, Board of Directors, members, funders and other key stakeholders and audiences as required
3. Attend weekly IEN and Fair Seas Team meetings (online), as well as funder meetings as appropriate (online).
4. Attend relevant in-person Fair Seas and IEN meetings and events
5. Any other tasks as requested by the line manager
6. Adhere to IEN internal policies and procedures
