As they embark on an exciting phase of European expansion, they are seeking a highly motivated Data Analytics Manager to build and lead their data analytics function. Role Description:
As the Data Analytics Manager, you will be instrumental in leading the company's data analytics capabilities in Europe. You will build and mentor a team of 3-4 Data Analysts, architecting robust and scalable data solutions that ensure data integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical sector. This role offers the exciting challenge of developing enhanced data architecture strategies, implementing seamless data integration across various systems, and leveraging visualisation tools to communicate complex insights to diverse stakeholders, from executive leadership to finance, supply chain, marketing, scientific, and other technology teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Data Leadership: Define and execute the company's data analytics strategy for the European market, aligning with global objectives and driving data-informed decision-making across all departments.
2. Team Leadership & Development: Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing team of 3-4 Data Analysts, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment. This includes talent acquisition, performance management, and professional development.
3. Advanced Data Architecture & Integration: Design and implement scalable and efficient data architecture strategies, including data modelling, data warehousing solutions, and robust ETL/ELT processes, ensuring seamless data integration from diverse sources.
4. Data Integrity & Quality Management: Establish and enforce rigorous data governance policies and procedures to guarantee data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all data pipelines and analytical outputs, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical data quality standards.
5. Insight Generation & Reporting: Lead the extraction of meaningful and actionable insights from complex pharmaceutical data, translating findings into clear and concise reports and presentations for various stakeholders.
6. Advanced Data Visualization: Oversee the utilization of advanced data visualization tools and techniques to effectively communicate complex data stories, trends, and patterns to both technical and non-technical audiences.
7. Regulatory Compliance & Data Security: Ensure all data analytics activities adhere to relevant pharmaceutical regulations (e.g., GDPR, local regulations) and maintain a strong focus on data security best practices.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with IT, Development, Clinical Operations, Commercial teams, and executive leadership to understand their data needs and deliver impactful analytical solutions.
9. Technology Evaluation & Adoption: Stay abreast of the latest data analytics technologies, tools, and methodologies, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the company's analytical capabilities.
What You Will Bring (Must-Have Skills):
1. Minimum of 5 years of progressive and demonstrable experience in data architecture design, data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, data management, and generating impactful insights through reporting and analysis, specifically within the pharmaceutical sector and with a strong understanding of data security principles.
2. Proven and successful experience in leading and managing a team of data analysts, including setting objectives, driving results, and fostering professional growth.
3. Strong technical proficiency in data-related technologies, including:
4. Databases: Deep expertise in both SQL and NoSQL database systems (e.g., Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
5. Data Warehouses: Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery).
6. ETL/ELT Processes: Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow).
7. Business Intelligence & Data Visualisation Tools: Advanced proficiency in leading data visualisation platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense).
8. Comprehensive understanding of pharmaceutical data landscapes, regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, GxP), and industry-specific data challenges.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.
Ideally, You Will Also Have (Nice-to-Have Skills):
1. Experience with statistical analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Python).
2. Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
