Overview:
Negotiates transaction deal documents and facilitates deal closings in a timely manner for Global Capital Markets (GCM) clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Negotiate and close transactions in which Wilmington Trust serves in a corporate services provider and trustee capacity as well as other complementary roles and products.
2. Serve as client-facing centralised deal manager for transactions for internal operational and support groups.
3. Meet with clients and attend conferences as deemed appropriate.
4. Assist Sales with business development initiatives and coordinate deal structures depending on asset type.
5. Serve as internal liaison for all support groups surrounding deal closings.
6. Address and escalate client-related matters and ensure they are prioritised appropriately and resolved.
7. Understand and adhere to the Wilmington Trust’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Wilmington Trust’s risk appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
8. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
9. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
10. Complete other related duties as assigned.

This position works on a team of individual contributors under management supervision.

Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 3 years’ related experience.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor of Laws (BCL) or strong legal background.
Minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
GCM deal closing experience.
Corporate Services/Corporate Trust experience.
Ability to read, interpret and negotiate legal documents.
