DescriptionThe purpose of this role will be to be principally responsible for supporting capacity planning and analysis projects, and the development of capacity assessments using industry specific simulation software. The day to day will involve, liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will create models, analyse and interpret results to support business cases and the planning of facilities to ensure the efficient use and optimisation of existing infrastructure.
In addition, this role will also work with other members of the Capacity Analysis Team to support the scheduling process at Dublin Airport, including slot and stand allocation.ResponsibilitiesProvision of simulation modelling assessments for operational areas of the airfield and terminals. Produce evidence based, dynamic simulation models to support the short-, medium- and long-term evaluation and assessment of airport capacity. Support with airfield and stand planning simulation studies to provide business support and assist the Airfield Planning team in devising future airfield development and operational strategies.Develop and implement analysis and reporting to support the information needs of the department’s management team.Ensure the information and data held in Dublin Airport’s simulation models is well managed, controlled and constantly reviewed and updated.Select appropriate tools or systems to automate or facilitate process improvement across the departmental functions.Understand and support the slot co-ordination process and provide team with any simulation required for co-ordination committee meeting.Keep up to date with developments in analysis methods and techniques.Work closely with other departments and develop knowledge of airport management, operations and Dublin Airport’s wider business / commercial activities to provide informed interpretation, analysis and reporting.Qualifications3rd level qualified in data analytics and or Aviation Business development Minimum of 5+ years experience working in an aviation-based role with same or similar role requirementsExperience in working with complex data across a number of commercial and non-commercial business streams.Essential CompetenciesStrong conceptual, analytical & organisational skillsDetailed knowledge of simulation modelling tools and techniquesAnalytical, with a keen eye for accuracy and detailStrong IT skills with experience of analytical / statistical toolExcellent communication skills, oral, written and presentation skills, with ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate without using direct authorityKnowledge of the aviation market, its interconnections and associated challengesCommitted to daa valuesDesirable CompetenciesExperience in operations research and business analyticsExperience in driving process improvementAbility to influence and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholdersWorking effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentdaa is an equal opportunities employer committed to celebrating diversity & inclusion and recognising the value that difference can bring, both for our business and for our people.
