As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Construction Team with a High Voltage Electrical Engineer based in Ireland.
The successful applicant will provide electrical engineering services on a consultancy basis supporting client requirements to achieve the objectives of individual renewables projects, lead electrical technical interfaces, and grow, develop and consolidate Natural Power’s pre-construction and construction phase service provision.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Provide electrical engineering advice and grid consultancy services to clients regarding costs, timelines and technical aspects of grid connections and renewable generation technology.
2. Preparation and submission of grid connection applications and modifications as part of new renewable project developments.
3. Ensure technical aspects and electrical infrastructure associated with wind farms, solar PV plants and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects are designed, installed and commissioned in accordance with employer’s requirements and contractor’s specifications.
4. Ensure contestable grid connection infrastructure is designed, installed and commissioned in accordance with system operator functional specifications.
5. Act as Single Point of Contact (SPoC) in managing design review process with DSO’s, TSO’s and other grid authorities.
6. Provide technical support to Natural Power Project Manager / Owner’s Engineer to assist with project delivery.
7. Assist with the preparation of specifications and employer’s requirements for solar EPC contracts (solar and BESS), turbine supply agreements, electrical balance of plant and contestable grid connection work packages.
8. Review technical aspects of electrical and grid connection infrastructure, both via documentation and on site, to ensure that any risks to operation, compliance and operational lifetime are identified and mitigated.
9. Attend site meetings and undertake site visits to inspect electrical works and prepare snagging lists.
10. Facilitate and manage grid code compliance testing processes.
11. Work with the Natural Power Advisory team to provide technical due diligence advisory services to renewable energy developers, asset owners and investors.
12. Keep abreast of grid connection and renewable energy policy and technology developments.
13. Manage designers and specialist subconsultants as may be required.
This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
