We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Oncology Registrar to join a dynamic medical team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to cancer patients, working under the supervision of consultant oncologists, and contributing to the multidisciplinary management of oncology cases.
Key Responsibilities:
* Patient Care: Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with various oncological conditions. This includes conducting patient assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating treatment plans in collaboration with senior medical staff.
* Treatment Administration: Participate in the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncological treatments, ensuring adherence to established protocols and patient safety guidelines.
* Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic care to oncology patients.
* Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with information regarding diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, and supportive care resources, ensuring clear communication and empathetic support.
* Continuous Professional Development: Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, case discussions, and educational sessions to maintain and enhance clinical knowledge and skills in oncology.
Requirements:
* Medical Qualifications: MB BCh BAO or equivalent medical degree.
* Registration: Eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
* Experience: A minimum of 3 years post-internship experience in Oncology.
* Skills: Strong clinical acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
