Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Disability Services
My client is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their Adult Disability Services team in Longford. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive occupational therapy services to adults with disabilities, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to enhance clients’ functional independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities of Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Disability Services
* Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to develop individualized treatment plans aimed at improving daily living skills and overall well-being.
* Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, both individually and in group settings, to address clients’ specific needs and goals.
* Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to provide holistic and coordinated care.
* Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress notes in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
* Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attending training sessions and participating in supervision, to stay updated with best practices in occupational therapy.
* Contribute to the development and evaluation of service delivery models, ensuring that programs meet the evolving needs of the adult disability population.
Requirements of Senior Occupational Therapist – Adult Disability Services
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
* Full registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council) as an Occupational Therapist.
* A minimum of three years post-qualification experience in a relevant clinical setting, with a strong preference for experience working with adults with disabilities.
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing a diverse caseload.
* Demonstrated proficiency in applying occupational therapy theories and practices to support individuals with disabilities.
* A full clean Irish driving license and access to a car, as the role may require travel between service locations.
