DesignBuild Search are working with an independent project and Cost Management Consultancy in Waterford. Due to expansion, they have an opening for a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor. The successful applicant will work in a high performing commercial team. In this position, you will get the opportunity to lead a team of Quantity Surveyors on landmark developments.

Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree qualified in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.
2. 7+ years’ PQS experience.
3. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Analyse blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour costs vs estimates.
2. Responsible for all MEP cost related matters.
3. All quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
4. Competent in all forms of estimating packages, Microsoft Excel and Word.
5. Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction manager/supervisors to discuss cost.
6. Monitor cost from vendors or subcontractors, explore variances, manage issues in conjunction with manager, deal with cost overseas and recovery.
7. Report on actual costs and examine estimates used by management for purpose such as planning, organising and scheduling work.
8. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project manager.
9. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
10. Set up cost monitoring and reporting system and procedures.
11. Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data to be effective on cost reduction.
