to the highest international standards of food production.Role Overview: The Production Manager holds overall responsibility for managing daily
production operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective
production of high-quality products. This role requires strong leadership to
meet production and quality targets while fostering a culture of continuous
improvement and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Leadership
& Team Management: Lead, coach, and motivate production
supervisors, team leaders, and operators. Build a high-performing team
through effective training, development, and performance management.Operational
Efficiency: Oversee all aspects of production, ensuring daily, weekly,
and monthly targets are met or exceeded. Drive efficiency improvements to
optimize production output and resource utilization. Monitor KPIs and
develop strategies to address any performance gaps.Continuous
Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives and ensure
best practices are implemented throughout production. Lead problem-solving
and process optimization projects to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost
control.Compliance
& Quality Assurance: Ensure strict adherence to quality standards,
including relevant protocols. Oversee product traceability and
allergen/cross-species production procedures to guarantee compliance.
Ensure all quality checks are carried out and any issues are promptly addressed.Inventory
& Stock Management: Manage monthly stock takes, ensuring accuracy
and accountability within the production department. Collaborate with
supply chain teams to ensure optimal inventory levels.Health
& Safety: Promote and maintain a safe working environment,
adhering to health and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and
ensure all team members are trained on safety protocols.Communication
& Reporting: Provide clear and consistent communication with
senior management regarding production performance, challenges, and
solutions. Prepare and present reports on production metrics and
improvement initiatives.Requirements:Experience:
5+ years in a managerial role within a manufacturing environment,
preferably in the food production industry. Demonstrated ability to lead
and manage teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.Skills:
Strong problem-solving skills and experience implementing continuous
improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma). Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate across all levels of
the organization. Proficiency in production metrics and reporting.Knowledge:
Familiarity with relevant food industry quality systems and standards.
Knowledge of HACCP, allergen management, and traceability requirements.
