The Organisation:
The North Clondalkin Probation Programme’s
Tower Programme aims to support young people to reduce their participation in offending Behaviour by providing accredited education in the form of QQI Level 3 and 4 modules, leading to employability skills, literacy, numeracy and computer support. This is key work that will support the young people in addressing, social, emotional, addiction and personal issues. We promote self-advocacy, and key work is very much client- centred.
Since 1999 the local Probation Service team have been based in Cusack House and have been offering a community based service to offenders from the wider Clondalkin area by way of Probation Supervision, Community Service Supervision and Temporary Release Supervision. The Probation Service offers a professional service to its clients and works closely with all relevant agencies.
The mission of the Tower programme is to implement and develop a programme, in association with The Probation Service, local community groups and relevant statutory agencies that will provide skills and pre-employment training to marginalised young adults from North Clondalkin who have come into conflict with the law, with the aim of reducing offending behaviour by accentuating personal development.

The responsibilities of the committee member are as follows:
5. To bring impartiality and objectivity to meetings and decision making
6. To be aware of the current issues that might affect the organisation
7. To advocate for and represent the organisation at external meetings and events if required
Desirable Qualities and Skills:
8. Enthusiasm for the mission of Tower which is to provide a non-custodial alternative for the client base that it serves through educational and other programmes which address offending behaviour, educational deficits, and personal development.
9. The ideal candidate will have HR Experience
10. Previous experience on boards
11. Knowledge of the compliance environment that applies to Tower, a registered charity which must comply with the Charities Governance Code.

Board Meetings :
There will be eleven board meetings a year. Meetings are currently held online but we plan to resume in-person meetings. These take place at the Tower Building, Cusack House in Clondalkin.
