About the Team
The Infrastructure, Planning and Acquisition team supports delivery of datacenter capacity for Microsoft's cloud business. We have a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary projects with specific safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.
Job Description
The Land Development Cost Estimator develops and maintains estimates for new Technology & Innovative Datacenter builds globally. This role involves strategic & innovative projects, as well as annual baselining of our standard DC models. Key responsibilities include:
* Estimating costs for datacenter projects to support short- and long-term plans
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment to scope, schedule, and budget
* Developing and maintaining estimating databases and templates
* Reporting out to senior managers on estimate data and project cost progress
* Performing different types of estimates and projects while keeping delivery dates a top priority
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, AND 10+ years related experience OR equivalent experience
* Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and ability to think strategically
* Capability to perform various types of estimates from parametric to bottoms up
* Ability to work within a dynamic team of full-time employees and consultants
