An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Assistant to join our organisation.
Job Role:
Working within a fast-paced kitchen, you will be responsible for assisting with the movement, storage and rotation of goods in and out of the Kitchen. You will pack freshly cooked products to preserve them, protect them during preparation and give them an identifiable and desirable appearance for display in store. You will ensure all goods are correctly labelled and recorded.
Key Responsibilities:
* Receive goods-in ensuring all legislative requirements, quality specification and shelf life of products is adhered to.
* Ensure effective stock rotation practices are in place to use older products first and reduce wastage.
* Assist the Chef & Cook in the preparation of ingredients as required.
* Assist with stock control procedures and ordering.
* Keep the machines and production areas clean and tidy.
* Ensure all packaging and other items are stored correctly.
* Accurately record any damages or wastage.
* Prepare, clean, adjust and maintain printing equipment.
* Ensure accurate information is printed on the label (use by date, price, etc.) and they are produced to a high standard and in line with food labelling regulations.
Requirements:
* Previous experience of working in a catering and/or hospitality kitchen environment.
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Desirable criteria include experience working in a Fresh Food Production Kitchen, previous supervisory experience and good working knowledge of MS Office.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of £10.01 - £12.20 per hour (dependent on age due to national living). The position requires flexibility to work between 8 to 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 5am - 8pm.
