Actuary - 12mth FTC/Secondment
The Role:
The successful candidate will work within one of two teams
1. Financial Reporting Team – which covers the “end to end” delivery of all reserving and solvency calculations on an Solvency II & FRS basis; or
2. Actuarial Function team - which supports the Head of Function in delivering relevant Solvency II and DAR requirements, and works on Balance Sheet projections, ORSA, Capital Management, Reinsurance, and other actuarial support to the wider PIA business
3. Ideal candidate will be a qualified actuary, with a background in Life Company financial reporting and/or actuarial function role, or similar relevant experience within a consultancy or audit firm.
4. This is a maternity cover contract due to start September 2024 and end August 2025.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
10. 3+ years’ experience in a financial reporting or actuarial function role
11. Excellent knowledge of Solvency II, ideally including application to Unit Linked and With Profit product sets
12. Strong "self starter" who can also work collaboratively with other colleagues in Actuarial, Risk and Finance
13. Excellent analytic skills and attention to detail, with an ability to constructively challenge and identify issues and opportunities
14. Good verbal and written communication skills are desirable
15. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team player;
16. Strong IT skills; a hands-on individual who is comfortable using MS Office and a variety of modelling tools
