Management Accountant
A global leader in the manufacturing of complex machinery, this Midlands-based company operates in the energy sector and is recognized as a top employer. This newly created Management Accountant role has been designed to support the Financial Controller and Director of Finance, ensuring reliable planning, decision-making, and financial control. The role is office-based, requiring attendance five days per week.
Key Responsibilities
1. Management accounting and corporate reporting, including stock exchange reports
2. Data modelling and variance analysis
3. Core accounting functions, including accounts payable, invoicing, cash collection, and bank management
4. Costing analysis, including material cost assessments and understanding cost drivers
5. Accurate recording of financial transactions
6. Involvement in business transformation and control projects that impact company profitability and decision-making
7. Creation of management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
8. Reconciliations
9. Supporting third-party audits to ensure compliance with regulations and provide assurance to stakeholders
10. Forecasting company performance using both quantitative data and qualitative insights
Experience & Qualifications
1. Qualified CIMA, ACCA, or Chartered Accountant
2. Minimum of two years post-qualification experience preferred
3. Manufacturing industry experience is advantageous, though curiosity about the sector is also valued
4. Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
5. Strong proficiency in Excel
