Nord Anglia International School, Dublin is seeking to recruit a passionate and skilled Head of Music for a maternity cover contract commencing in April 2025 for a duration of approximately 1 year. The successful candidate will be proficient in playing and teaching at least one musical instrument and have substantial experience in producing school productions. The Role:
We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Head of Music who will focus on:
1. Delivering outstanding, engaging, and differentiated music lessons across various age groups, tailored to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
2. Leading and managing the Music Department, promoting a culture of collaboration, consistency, and high standards in music education.
3. Planning, directing, and producing school musical productions and performances, ensuring a high level of student involvement and artistic achievement.
4. Organising and overseeing extracurricular music activities, such as choirs, ensembles, and music clubs, to enrich the musical life of the school.
5. Integrating music into the broader school curriculum, fostering interdisciplinary projects that inspire creativity and critical thinking.
6. Supporting and mentoring music teachers, facilitating their professional growth and encouraging the sharing of best practices within the department.
The Successful Candidate will possess:
1. A recognised teaching qualification and extensive experience teaching music across a range of year groups.
2. Proficiency in playing and teaching at least one musical instrument to a high standard, with the ability to inspire students through practical demonstrations and expert instruction.
3. Proven experience in planning and producing successful school musical productions, with strong organisational and leadership skills.
4. A deep understanding of music education, including a commitment to integrating performance and theory to create a comprehensive learning experience.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, and contribute positively to the school community.
6. A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment where all students are encouraged to reach their musical potential.
