The Company currently writes lines of business including specialty insurance: aviation & aerospace, energy, marine, property, terror & political violence, contingency and other specialty lines; reinsurance: property reinsurance, property retrocession, specialty reinsurance, whole account/multi-class and bespoke.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of MGU Planning, the Senior Group FP&A Accountant will support the delivery of all aspects of financial planning and analysis for the Fidelis group. This role is a 6 month contract based on site in our Dublin office.
Role Responsibilities
* Assist the Head of MGU Planning in all aspects of the Group financial planning and forecasting processes, including legal entities.
* Liaise with underwriters on premium planning and monitoring actual vs benchmark.
* A contributing role in further development of the Anaplan planning and analysis system.
* Assist with preparation of group and legal entity finance board materials including detailed financial analysis and reporting.
* Assist with continuous improvement in processes and controls across the FP&A team.
* Assist in the enhancement and development of MI to support the business.
* Assist in the development of key analysis models to help inform decision making.
* Involvement in additional finance projects as required.
Skills & Experience
* University Degree and a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
* Experience with (re)insurance preferable but not required.
* FP&A experience required.
* Understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications, including robust Excel skills.
* Must be able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial data to diverse audiences.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
* Able to deliver accurate and thoughtful work within tight deadlines.
