Senior Speech and Language Therapist

Job Summary:
* Conduct assessments and treatment sessions at clinics
* Analyse voice patterns using technical equipment and examine speech production factors
* Collaborate with service users, family members, carers, and staff to set treatment plans
* Develop and implement new ways of working with staff teams to prevent future speech and language difficulties
* Deliver training to staff teams to support service user recovery
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out assessment and treatment sessions at clinics
2. Analyse voice patterns using technical equipment
3. Examine the factors involved in producing speech
4. Collaborate with service users, family members, carers, and staff to set treatment plans
5. Introduce and support new ways of working with Staff Teams
6. Deliver training to Staff Teams
7. Referring SU to other specialists when necessary/Multidisciplinary Team
8. Liaise with other professionals such as behaviour specialists,psychologists, doctors and ear/nose/throat (ENT) specialists
9. Keep detailed clinical notes and draft reports on client symptoms, treatments and progress
10. Teach exercises to help eliminate speech problems
11. Attend clinics and participate in relevant meetings, case conferences as appropriate
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Level 8 Degree in Speech and Language therapy
* Registered member of CORU
* Qualification in FEDS (Feeding Eating Drinking Swallowing) assessment, treatment and care planning across the above populations
Knowledge and Experience:
* Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area
* 4-6 years experience as a Speech and Language therapist
