Job Title: Security Systems Engineer
Reports To: Manager – IT Security Engineer

Location: Remote – Ireland
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours weekly
Job Overview:
As a Prometric Security Systems Engineer, you will be a core player who participates in and leads multiple security efforts. You will work closely with development teams, product managers, and our enterprise teams to ensure that Prometric brands and products are secure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in endpoint security solutions, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in the field. This position requires expertise in managing and securing endpoints within enterprise environments, as well as proficiency in utilizing tools such as Microsoft Defender and Intune.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Manage current antivirus on Microsoft Windows Server.
2. Migrate server environment from antivirus solution to Defender.
3. Conduct regular assessments and audits of server security configurations to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
4. Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks and suspicious activities.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into overall security architecture and policies.
6. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members and other IT staff on security best practices and procedures.
7. Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies, and recommend enhancements to the security posture accordingly.
8. Plan and deploy WAF technologies.
9. Incident Response tickets and participate in on-call rotation.
Essential Criteria:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Technical Certification in Security or vendor-specific certifications in Microsoft Defender, Intune are desirable.
3. 3+ years of cybersecurity work experience.
4. Accustomed to working in a complex environment developing complex solutions in a cybersecurity context.
5. Experience with Azure, containers, Kubernetes, pipelines.
6. Previous experience configuring vulnerability and system hardening scans.
7. Strong experience with networking, firewalls, load-balancers for On-Premises and in Cloud environments.
8. Good understanding of Virtualization technologies – VMs, Containers, VMware.
9. Experience in automation with cloud solutions and with Terraform.
10. Microsoft Windows Server OS - 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022.
11. Security Assessments: Conduct security assessments, identifying gaps and vulnerabilities in existing security measures, and recommending remediation actions to enhance overall security posture.
12. Must have very strong problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
13. Must be able to pay strong attention to detail while multi-tasking and maintaining organizational skills.

2. Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users.
3. Ability to communicate at a conceptual level to management and at a detailed level to engineers and administrators.
4. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.
