The Opportunity:
Avantor is looking for a Materials Controller (f/m/d) to join our team at our customer site in Cork. In this role, you are responsible for receiving and storing laboratory consumables and ensuring our customer laboratories are well-stocked!

Working hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00, Friday 07:30-15:00
The team:
Together with your four colleagues, you are part of a supportive, small team, belonging to our department Lab and Product Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What we’re looking for:
Education: Completed Leaving Certificate and a curiosity for Science
Experience:
* Full training will be given, previous experience in a pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
* Previous experience with materials handling and/or warehousing would be an advantage
* Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
* Computer Literate
* Process-driven and high levels of attention to detail
* Full clean driving license and own car to easily reach the customer site
Preferred qualifications:
* Materials Handling certificate
* Experience working in a GxP environment
* Inventory management or stock control experience
How you will thrive and create an impact:
* Ensure that stock is prepared and maintained for detailed storing, perform daily stock cycle counts, keep accurate records on inventory, and check for any discrepancies.
* Order consumable replenishment items online and deliver goods to customer locations. Continuously monitor inventory consumption levels and flag reports on a weekly basis.
* Receive inbound deliveries and account for all defective or damaged products and follow up with appropriate corrective action; move and store stock by hand or machines.
* Identify opportunities for improved services and implement them.
