We are seeking a Mechanical Systems Turnover Engineer who will play a crucial role in the successful execution and completion of mechanical systems in various projects and ensure quality, safety, and operational standards are met prior to handover. Your expertise will be instrumental in the transition from construction to operational readiness, encompassing thorough inspections, documentation, and compliance checks.
This role is based in the overall Munster & Leinster Regions and is not specific to Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Systems Evaluation: Conduct detailed inspections and assessments of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and process systems, to verify compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
2. Documentation Management: Oversee the compilation and review of turnover documentation, including as-built drawings, equipment manuals, inspection reports, and compliance certifications, ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurate and complete.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with project engineers, contractors, and operations teams to facilitate smooth communication and coordination regarding mechanical systems, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise during final inspections and tests.
4. Testing and Commissioning: Collaborate on testing and commissioning activities, ensuring that all mechanical systems are operationally ready and that performance criteria are met.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, conducting audits as necessary to uphold safety and quality benchmarks.
6. Handover Support: Assist in the formal handover process, providing training and support to operations personnel and ensuring they are familiar with system functionalities and maintenance requirements.
7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, develop best practices for turnover processes, and contribute to ongoing team training and development initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Relevant experience in mechanical systems turnover, project management, or a similar role within the engineering or construction industry.
Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of mechanical design standards, codes, and regulations.
2. Proficiency in technical documentation and project management software. Previous experience using EIDA would be preferable but not essential.
3. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
