The Role:
As a Health & Safety Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
* Implementing a robust health and safety management system that meets operational and legislative requirements
* Establishing a proactive approach to promote a positive safety culture and ensuring all employees and external visitors comply with H&S policies and practices
* Advising and supporting site management teams in developing and delivering H&S plans tailored to their needs and requirements
* Minimising operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents, and injuries
* Conducting regular risk assessments and reviewing them to ensure they remain relevant to company procedures and control measures are actioned
* Developing safe working procedures and communicating with relevant employees
* Maintaining the COSHH register in accordance with legislative requirements and providing relevant information, instruction, and training to employees
* Compiling site audits and inspections and highlighting any concerns to management and ensuring outcomes are actioned
* Implementing a non-compliance register and reviewing it with management regularly
* Investigating all accidents, near misses, non-compliance occurrences, and completing future preventative actions
* Completing fire safety procedures, including fire drills and testing the fire alarm system
* Staying up-to-date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of HSE regulations and guidance
* Performing other relevant tasks as required
Essential Criteria:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* NEBOSH qualification or equivalent
* A full driving licence is essential due to the multi-site nature of the role
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience within the engineering/manufacturing sector
* Train the trainer qualification
