Ensure design decisions are made in accordance with project plan Identification and management of potential risks to ensure they do not affect successful delivery of project goals in accordance with project plan Management of the project team to deliver on all project goals Keep up to date with best industry practice and production methods Provide technical support for the CME department Knowledge of and adherence to company policies, standards, project group procedures and safety culture and procedures. Ensure that up-to-date Standards, Specifications, Instructions, Procedures and Manuals (all controlled documents) are available and issued in a controlled manner. Preparation of engineering designs and specifications for rail rolling stock and allied equipment and materials. Ensure that all drawings and schematics are latest editions and issued in a controlled manner. Manage the technical evaluation aspect of the procurement process and make recommendations for preferred bidder(s). Manage the design phase of the project to ensure design complies with specification and meets IE's requirements Management of contractors and specialist consultants appointed to ensure they fully deliver on their contractual obligations Responsibility for achieving key project objectives-time, specification compliance, quality and cost Management of commissioning, testing and implementation of the project Manage failure investigations and testing where required Management of contractors and fleet performance during warranty period to ensure warranty claims are processed through failure reporting system. and defects rectified Identification of issues affecting vehicle reliability and availability developing solutions for same. Reporting on project to include progress against planned targets and fleet reliability IE Senior Management as required. Reporting on project progress at IE sub-boards and Board of Directors as required. Review of SAP Project System each period to ensure relevant project costs are charged against each project Liaise with suppliers as appropriate PERFORMANCE MEASURES Achievement of performance targets as set out Preparation of development plan for each team member as appropriate. Six-month appraisal of team members against their assigned targets and addressing any areas for improvement. Demonstration of progress against development plan for each team member Adequate planning for assigned tasks / project Achievement of assigned Project Goals and deliverables within agreed time and budget and to required specification and quality Customer and end-user satisfaction.
