Post Summary In order to ensure compliance with the Official Languages Act, 2003, Official Languages (Amendment) Act 2021 and the Universities Act, 1997 as amended, and the Higher Education Authority Act 2022 and to promote the Irish language and culture in Trinity, in accordance with the Universitys strategic objectives, Trinity seeks to appoint an Assistant Irish Language Officer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the promotion of the Irish language in the College and will assist with administering the Colleges on campus and off campus Irish language student residential schemes.
The appointee will be responsible for advising University authorities and staff in relation to compliance with the provisions of the Official Languages Act, 2003, Official Languages (Amendment) Act 2021, the Colleges Irish Language Schemes and ensuring compliance with Colleges Irish Language Policy.
Fluency in both the Irish and English languages, and a high level of competency in written Irish are essential.
Post status: 2 Year Fixed-Term Contract The nature of this employment contract is fixed term as the function of this role will be subject to a review and may not continue in its current form.
The long-term capacity of the post will be contingent upon the outcome of the review.
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 3 Salary Scale (€45,410 - €56,947 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
