Applications are invited from suitably qualified staff within the Hospital for the following position:
Ref No: 2024/136 Clinical Nurse Fertility Specialist
Clinical Midwife Fertility Specialist
Permanent - Full Time
The fertility service is dedicated to helping patients to assess, plan and implement services required during their fertility journey. The primary objective is to provide patient-centred assessment, advice and treatment which improves quality of life and promotes health into the years beyond.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
(i) Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann) or entitled to be so registered.
And
(ii) Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregrate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the area of women's health.
And
(iii) Educated to Masters level is desirable or a commitment to undertake this same within two years of appointment.
And
(iv) An insight into the fertility and all of the areas of management and willing to undertake further education regarding fertility care.
And
(v) Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
And
(a) Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
And
(b) Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual registration
(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the relevant division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann).
And
(ii) Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the Director of Midwifery and Nursing Department at The Rotunda Hospital.

Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development, training and research
Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to resolve conflicts
