A Renewable Energy Business Unit is seeking a skilled Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialists to join the team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the EIA process for large-scale renewable energy projects, including preparing Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Appropriate Assessment/Natura Impact Statements (AA/NIS).
Provide expert environmental guidance to support the Planning Team and contribute to the Renewable Energy Business Unit Strategy, ensuring compliance with planning and environmental regulations.
Monitor and assess updates to planning and environmental legislation, policies, and development plans, providing insights to maximise positive outcomes.
Support the Stakeholder and Advocacy Team in developing project communication plans and engaging effectively with communities and key stakeholders, including statutory and non-statutory consultees.
Prepare specifications for third-party services and support the procurement process as needed.
Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies in all work undertaken.
Provide mentoring and upskilling support to junior staff, with a particular focus on EIA and AA processes.
Actively participate in the Performance Management process to drive personal and team success.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Hons Degree (Level 8 FETAC) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
A Postgraduate qualification (Level 9 FETAC) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning Law) is desirable.
A minimum of 5 years' experience leading the preparation of EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale projects.
Proven expertise in delivering EIS/EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for major development projects.
Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams on EIA projects.
Strong understanding of EIA processes, Irish planning policy, and environmental legislation.
Experience in Renewables, Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID), or related projects is desirable but not essential.
Technical expertise in ecology, noise, air quality, or a related EIA discipline is an advantage.
Ability to manage diverse projects with varying priorities, risks, and timelines.
