Job Summary
This role involves working as a clinical fellow in an Irish Regional Specialist Memory Clinic, where you will participate in the assessment and management of patients with cognitive disorders. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing neurocognitive assessment, diagnosis, and management. The role requires expertise in neurology and geriatric medicine, with experience in running lumbar puncture clinics and supporting research within the unit.
Main Responsibilities
1. Participate in the assessment and management of patients with young onset dementia and cognitive impairment
2. Provide biomarker-based diagnosis of dementia using lumbar punctures
3. Support primary care in managing patients post-diagnosis
4. Contribute to research initiatives within the unit, including clinical drug trials and grant applications
5. Fulfill key performance indicators for the National Dementia Office
6. Care for patients in the community, improving patient outcomes
7. Create an integrated memory service that improves care for patients with neurocognitive disorders
Eligibility Criteria
* Basic Specialty Training in General Medicine completed
* Clinical experience in neurology or geriatric medicine
* Masters degree aligned with neurocognitive disorders (optional)
* MRCP/MRCPI certification
