About Us
The Land Development Agency is a key Government Commercial Semi-State Body that delivers social and affordable housing on State and other lands.
It is overseen by an independent board of directors and the Government has committed to providing the LDA with €1.25 billion of equity which is drawn as required.
Our Projects
We have commenced construction on various state sourced lands and are currently working on direct delivery projects that can deliver over 5,000 homes.
We are also delivering affordable housing by working with the private sector on an initiative called Project Tosaigh, which will yield a further 5,000 homes.
Key Locations
We are working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as:
Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
The Role
This role offers the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a wide range of transformative residential and regeneration projects across the country through the development life cycle.
The ideal candidate will have all necessary technical and commercial acumen required in delivering landmark projects, but importantly will need to be a team player with the drive, work ethic and adaptability to respond to the exciting challenges of the LDA mandate.
Principal Accountabilities
As a Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* On-site supervision of the construction stage and ensuring contractors carry out works in accordance with the design.
* Organizing adequate supervision of construction works on-site and reporting to the Employer's Representative.
* Coordinating Contract interfaces with respect to the works.
* Assessment of Contractor claims and writing reports on same.
* Assessment of Contractor payment applications against work completed.
* Supervision of the works, keeping records, measuring, managing correspondence, and contractual documentation.
* Record detailed reports of all works and any significant happenings on-site.
* Ensure that all work recorded is approved prior to execution.
* Attend regular site meetings and ensure other site supervisory staff are alerted to any matter which may affect their work.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification in Engineering.
* Satisfactory knowledge of civil engineering works, building construction, and project management.
* At least 4 years experience working as a Resident Engineer.
* Strong ability in delivering results and performance management.
* Detailed experience in the delivery of residential projects.
* Direct experience in project management and good knowledge of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Regulations.
* Excellent Communication skills and high attention to detail.
Experience
Prior experience in a relevant area is preferred, with demonstrable willingness to take on new responsibilities and the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team within a well-defined project organisation structure.
You should be a driven proactive solutions & results focused team player, with the ability to adapt to new challenges and possess a keen interest in the development process and developing skillsets like project and development management, contractual, commercial and financial aspects of development projects, building & managing stakeholder relationships, Technical knowledge – an understanding of technical principles, construction buildability, technical solutions value engineering would be an advantage.
A full clean driving license is required for some site travel.
