We are looking for a dedicated Truck & Trailer Mechanic / Fitter to maintain and repair our fleet of trucks and trailers (Refrigerated). You will play a key role in ensuring our vehicles are roadworthy and meet all safety and compliance standards.
* Perform routine maintenance and servicing on trucks and trailers, including inspections, oil changes, and brake checks.
* Repair or replace malfunctioning parts, i.e. transmissions, engines, and suspension systems
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks and trailers.
* Conduct pre-MOT inspections and repairs to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
* Maintain detailed service records for all work performed and parts used.
* Respond to breakdowns and perform on-site repairs as needed.
* Collaborate with drivers and the operations team to identify and resolve vehicle issues promptly.
* Ensure all tools, equipment, and workshop areas are kept in good condition.
Qualifications / Requirements:
* Proven experience as a mechanic working with trucks and trailers is desired but not essential, as training will be provided
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, and trailer mechanics.
* Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy parts and equipment.
* Preferred: Valid HGV licence
