Description of Job Role
The successful candidate will be a key member of the multi-disciplinary team at Wexford General Hospital, providing medical care to patients. The role involves diagnosing and treating patients, prioritising their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in the provision of medical care as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Diagnose and treat patients with a high level of autonomy.
* Ensure patient safety and well-being are prioritised at all times.
* Assess patients on admission and discharge, documenting detailed reports in case notes.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests, initiating and monitoring treatment plans.
* Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, facilitating multidisciplinary clinical audit and proactive risk management.
* Co-operate with measures to ensure compliance with European Working Time Directive and related Irish legislation.
* Attend NCHD Induction training, including paid induction during employment and up to 39 hours of comprehensive training.
* Perform additional duties as required by the supervising Consultant/Clinical Director/Head of Academic Department.
Requirements and Guidelines
* Abide by the Irish Medical Council's 'Guide to Ethical Conduct and Behaviour'.
* Co-operate with investigations, enquiries or audit relating to the provision of health services.
* Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures, and human resource policies and procedures.
