About the Role:
We are seeking a Permanent Part-Time Shop Assistant to support our Shop Manager, volunteers, and scheme workers in Castlebar.
Key Responsibilities:
* To work alongside the Shop Manager, volunteers, and scheme workers to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.
* To assist with visual merchandising and display of stock, including furniture, clothing, and bric-a-brac.
* To maintain a positive and professional attitude, even in challenging situations.
* To be flexible and willing to cover for the Shop Manager when required.
Requirements:
Education:
Ideal Leaving Certificate standard education.
Experience:
A minimum of 2 years retail experience, preferably in the community/voluntary sector.
Skills:
* Excellent customer care skills and ability to work in a customer-facing environment.
* Motivated, confident communicator with a passion for helping people.
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask.
* Positive outlook, resilience, and persistence in the face of barriers and setbacks.
* Ability to display empathy, patience, and a well-developed sense of humour.
* Keen eye for visual merchandising and display.
* Self-motivated and take pride and satisfaction in own work.
* Outgoing and energetic, able to work on own and as part of a team.
* Excellent numerical skills.
