Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage client relationships, ensuring consistent service through interaction with clients and senior management.
2. Evaluate and maintain the control environment for the fund accounting team.
3. Lead and develop teams of up to 10 employees.
4. Resolve complex fund accounting inquiries escalated by supervisors or administrators.
5. Prioritize and timely resolve aged items on cash and position reconciliations.
6. Review daily and monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
7. Enhance NAV calculation workflows and procedures.
8. Analyze fee calculations and profit and loss allocations.
9. Assess monthly, yearly, and inception-to-date performance metrics.
10. Oversee the audit process, ensuring timely completion of fund audits and preparation of financial statements.
11. Investigate accounting implications of new products.
12. Cultivate effective client initialization and transition processes.
13. Participate in fund accounting training development and presentation.
14. Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations within fund accounting.
15. Address exceptional problems and undertake special projects as assigned.
16. Negotiate complex client calls.
17. Maintain collaborative relationships with Investor Services, Quality Assurance, Client Servicing, and Compliance departments.
Desired Skills and Experience:
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in Hedge Fund Administration, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level. Alternative Hedge Fund experience may be considered.
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, Legal, or Business is required.
* Pursuing a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA) is advantageous but not required.
* Proficiency in IT is essential.
* Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written are necessary.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are required.
* Flexibility to work effectively within a team or independently.
* Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
* Good initiative with the ability to identify when escalation is needed.
